CPR CLASSES

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) classes for the public are offered the 1st Saturday of each month from 8:30am - 12:30pm at Shoreline Fire Headquarters: 17525 Aurora Ave N. Classes are taught by firefighter/EMTs and adhere to American Heart Association standards for the Heartsaver certification. Students learn adult, child and infant CPR techniques and are introduced to an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). This class is excellent for those who need a CPR card for their job or who would like to be prepared in case of a family emergency.

Classes are available to anyone age 10 and up for a fee of $15.00.

GROUP CPR CLASSES

Do you know of an organization or group that would like to learn CPR?  Shoreline Firefighters will come to your location and teach CPR to groups of 10 to 20.  Perfect for employees, Scouts, church or community groups.  $15.00 per person fee.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT CPR CLASSES

My employer says I need a card. Which class should I take?
The Heartsaver Class that we teach on the first Saturday of every month is sufficient for most occupations.  Be sure to check with your employer on any specific requirements.  First Saturday class is from 0830 to 1230 at 17525 Aurora Ave North.  Call 206-533-6500 to register.

I already know CPR…can I just come and take the test?
Studies show that most people lose their skills after one year.  So taking a class again is a good way to keep those skills fresh.  We don’t provide refresher classes.

I just need infant/child CPR class…can I do that?
We recommend you take the full Heartsaver class from 8:30 till 12:30 on the first Saturday of each month. It includes infant and child and you can ask the instructor for emphasis on children if you prefer.

I need First Aid and CPR…where can I get that?
Call ABC First Aid & CPR at 206-349-9218.  You can also contact local hospitals or the American Red Cross.

I just need First Aid.  Is there a stand alone class?
The American Red Cross and some hospitals teach First Aid as a stand alone class to individuals.  Calll 206-726-3534.

I am a healthcare worker, lifeguard, nurses aid... do you have Healthcare Provider classes?
Not for individuals.  We only teach groups.  Call the American Heart Association at 206-341-5024.

We have 40 people who need CPR... can you help?
You will need to schedule two classes.  We have a 20 student maximum.  Or you could send some to our first Saturday class.

We only have 5 who need the class…?
Our minimum is 10 for groups.  You’ll end up paying for 10, even if 5 only show up.  So you should have your people attend the First Saturday class.

We didn’t realize our cards were all expired. Can you teach us this week?
No.  We need at least two weeks notice to schedule our instructors.  Please call one of our referrals to see if you can get a class sooner.

Are children allowed to take the classes?
We recommend that students be at least 12 years old, though we make exceptions in accordance with parent’s permission.
