Residents Raise $4,000 for Fire Departments and Medic One

In keeping with a long history of fundraising and support for the fire and EMS service and King County Medic One, the Green Acres Mobile Home Park Coffee Club recently awarded $4,000.00 to the Shoreline and Bothell Fire Departments for basic and advanced life support services.

The Coffee Club has been raising funds for emergency medical services since the 1970’s, by selling raffle tickets for handmade quilts and other linens.  Since that time, over $125,000.00 has been given to fire and emergency medical service programs in the area.

This week, the Club gave $2,000.00 to Bothell’s basic life support program and $2,000.00 to Shoreline’s Medic One advanced life support program.  The funds are used to supplement taxpayer dollars that pay for emergency medical services in Bothell, Kenmore, Lake Forest Park and Shoreline.

“We are extremely grateful for this continuing show of appreciation — not to mention the financial benefit”, said Shoreline Fire’s Deputy Chief, Marcus Kragness.  “These citizens are volunteering their time and energy to assure that essential emergency medical services are supported in our communities, and we are extremely grateful for their efforts.”
