FIRE PREVENTION

Fire prevention measures are conducted through building inspections, building plans review, alarm system inspections, commercial sprinkler system inspections, issuing permits, and other related activities.  This division also actively works with the City of Shoreline to promote public safety and make recommendations about the planning and permitting processes that affect our community.

With specialized training in investigative procedures, our Fire Marshal and Inspectors also respond to fire incidents to find and preserve evidence and to make final determinations as to the cause of a fire.  We often collaborate with King County Fire Investigation which brings added expertise particularly in the areas of arson and criminal intent.
